Pedestrian struck by train in Shoshone
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —
UPDATE: A 55-year old man from Watsonville, Calif. was walking his bicycle across the tracks when he was struck by the oncoming train.
He is currently being treated for his injuries.
U.S. 93 was blocked for approximately 5 and a half hours to allow first responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a train on Thursday at approximately 9:56 p.m. in Shoshone, Idaho.
All traffic traveling on Highway 93/26 and 75 coming into the city of Shoshone is being redirected to use Grape Street to Huyser Street or Huyser Street to Grape Street to get around Shoshone at this time.
Traffic traveling North into Shoshone on Highway 93 will need to redirect from Shoshone to Highway 24 to 750 East. All train traffic has been stopped at this time.
All semi-truck traffic needs to avoid this area and re-route until further notice. This is an active investigation, no other details have been released at this time. The Idaho State Police will be investigating the incident.
