TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A buffet-style restaurant is closed, leaving dozens of employees without a job.

The Golden Corral in Twin Falls closed its doors Tuesday morning.

A former employee said about 70 employees were given zero notice about the news.

The Twin Falls closure means only two Idaho locations are left, in Boise and Nampa, as the Coeur d’Alene restaurant closed earlier this decade.

For now, former server Erica Marie told KMVT she found out about the restaurant’s closing via text from her manager this morning.

While Marie is searching for new employment, the situation is looking grimmer for others.

“We had a couple of employees who were there that just found out that due to they can’t pay their rent they are getting evicted as of now,” Marie said. “We have car payments that can’t be paid for. Being a server especially, those tips are where we live.”

Marie said she will make $114 a week now under unemployment. She is used to bringing in $200, if not more, in tips.

“It’s going to impact us all, a lot, especially us servers.”

KMVT contacted Golden Corral for comment, but we have not received anything yet.

Valley House Homeless Shelter picked up the donated food earlier today.
