Cactus Pete’s Resort Casino gears up for Super Bowl Sunday
The Jackpot-based casino boasts the only sportsbook for hundreds of miles.
JACKPOT, Nevada (KMVT/KSVT) — The Super Bowl. The biggest sporting event every single year in the United States is right around the corner, and with the big game, comes the betting and Cactus Pete’s Resort Casino in Jackpot, Nevada is prepping for a busy evening.
“The super bowl is definitely a big date for us, especially with the sportsbook. A lot of our guests that come down for the super bowl are coming from Idaho. In past years on property the day of the game we’ll have anywhere from three to four hundred guests. It’s really a big day for us and one we look forward to all year long,” said Cactus Pete’s Marketing Director, Ben Baugh.
Cactus Pete’s is unlike the other Jackpot casinos because they offer a sportsbook in addition to their table games and slots, which is helpful for Idahoans who would like to legally bet on sports ahead of the big game.
“We’re really fortunate to have the only sportsbook in close proximity to our Idaho residents and really there’s no challenges. We’re just grateful for everybody who comes down to experience what we are able to deliver in terms of guest service,” Baugh said.
Another facet of that guest service is the Super Bowl food and all three restaurants at Cactus Pete’s will be open and serving up great food for the hundreds of guests that will be there and those working on the food side may have the busiest evening of all.
“Our culinary team is prepping food 24/7 because of our operation. A lot of work goes into everything that we do here. For example, you’re going to see our pizza. Our pizza is fresh baked, we also make the dough right here in our bakery. All of our pastries that we sell at Nosh are all made right here so our guys are working around the clock to get ready,” said Cactus Pete’s VP of Hospitality, Tom O’Connor.
This year’s Super Bowl is expected to break another record in terms of gambling, as 68 million Americans plan to wager $23 billion on the game this year, up 35% from last year.
All it takes for Idahoans to get involved is to drive over state lines!
