Man from Hailey arrested for several traffic violations

KETCHUM, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —In a release from Blaine County Sheriff, on Feb. 14 around 9:00 p.m. the deputies conducted a traffic stop in Ketchum, Idaho.

Pedro Morales- Lopez, age 35 of Hailey, was pulled over and the deputy believed Morales-Lopez was under the influence of alcohol. The deputy requested that Morales-Lopez step out of the vehicle for a standard sobriety test, but fled the scene at a high speed. He crossed into oncoming traffic and struck several snowbanks. When the vehicle became stuck in the snowbank, he fled on foot.

Morales-Lopez was arrested and charged with eluding a peace officer, driving under the influence and possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

He was later released on a $1100 bond.
