Local father and son charged with child sex crimes

JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A father and son are facing several charges relating to child sex crimes, according to court documents.
Shane Shockey, 48, is charged in Jerome County District Court with three counts of lewd conduct with a child under 16, two counts of rape and child sexual abuse.
District court documents also show that his son, Zachary Shockey, 29, is charged with two counts of lewd conduct with a child under 16 and two counts of child sexual abuse.
The documents reveal Shane Shockey faces additional charges in Blaine County District Court of one count of lewd conduct with a child under 16 and one count of rape.
Deputies arrested Shane Shockey for the Blaine County charges on Jan. 31, according to the Jerome County Sheriff’s Office. He posted a bond of $500,000 and was released on Feb. 1.
After deputies investigated further, Jerome County District Court charged Shane with additional counts on Feb. 14, according to court documents. Shane Shockey is currently booked into the Jerome County Jail.
Jerome County also charged Zachary Shockey on Feb. 13 following the investigation. He turned himself in, posted a $25,000 bond and was released from jail on Feb. 14, according to the sheriff’s office.
The documents reveal that Shane Shockey’s charges span seven years, while Zachary Shockey’s charges span over three years.
Shane Shockey will be arraigned in Blaine County District Court on Feb. 24 for the two charges, according to court documents. Zachary Shockey is due in court on March 10 for an arraignment.
Shane Shockey’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 27 in Jerome County District Court for the Feb. 14 charges.
