GOODING, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Two teenagers are being held in the Snake River Detention Center Wednesday night, after being charged in a local man’s murder.

The Gooding County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Jerome Police Department, executed search warrants at two locations Wednesday.

According to Gooding County Prosecutor, Trevor Misseldine, the suspects are believed to be connected to the stabbing death of 18-year-old Dax Richins.

The homicide allegedly occurred around or about June 23rd in southeast Gooding County near Wendell.

Richins’ body wasn’t discovered until September 21st in a shallow grave, which authorities believe was the same location as the murder.

The names of the suspects are not being released due to their ages being 15 and 17 years old.

While authorities say a motive has been developed, the incident remains under investigation.
