Idaho schools participate in Computer Science Education Week
JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Schools across Idaho focused on technology as part of Computer Science Education Week.
It aims to interest students in computer science, like coding, artificial intelligence and robotics.
At Jerome High School, students participated in an hour of code, where all participants could learn about computer programming.
“Helping schools celebrate the importance of cyber security, of making sure kids are learning internet safety, and also understanding the importance of computer science in all occupations,” said Sonya Haines, ISEE Stem Hub Coordinator. “From writing an email all the way down to, you know, how do you send information through the internet.”
Computer Science Education Week occurs every second week of December, and any student can participate.
