New grants awarded to local high schools to help with career technical education
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Two local school districts received a part of nearly $7 million in grants to help with career technical education.
The Idaho Career Ready Students’ Council met to reconsider 17 proposals recommended for funding but not awarded due to a lack of program funds.
These new grant approvals are possible thanks to an additional $20 million appropriation from the Idaho Legislature.
Twin Falls School District is receiving a little more than $1 million to expand the welding and agriculture program at Twin Falls High School.
The Valley School District was awarded $3.3 million to improve the agricultural program facility at Valley Middle-High School.
The council will consider reopening the application period in an upcoming meeting.
