Gov. Brad Little signs first bill of 2025 session into law

BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Gov. Brad Little announced on Monday that he signed the first bill of the 2025 legislative session.
Gov. Little signed House Bill 3 after being approved by the Idaho House of Representatives and the Idaho Senate, according to a post to his Facebook page.
The bill conforms Idaho’s income tax code to the changes to the Internal Revenue Code that affect the 2024 tax year.
Idaho’s income tax code uses federal taxable income as a starting point for businesses and people, and tax forms use federal adjusted gross income as a starting point, according to the bill. It updates the previous static conformity date of Jan. 1, 2024, to Jan. 1, 2025, to avoid confusion and extra work.
The bill passed in the House by a vote of 56-14 and passed the Senate 32-3, according to the Idaho Legislature website.
