BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Idaho electors officially casted their votes on Tuesday for Donald Trump and JD Vance as President and Vice President of the United States.

Secretary of State Phil McGrane presided over the vote in the Lincoln Auditorium at the Idaho State Capitol in Boise.

The votes were cast by Vicki Keen, Jean Mollenkopf-Moore, Brent Regan and Doyle Beck. The electors were chosen by the Idaho Republican Party and elected by Idaho voters during the November general election.

McGrane certified the votes, which will be sent to the Capitol for Congress’ official vote count on Jan. 6.

“It was a privilege to participate in an event that carries such historic importance,” McGrane said. “After a record 917,000 Idahoans cast their votes in the November Election, the Electoral College represents the culmination of that election. Congratulations to President-Elect Trump and Vice President Vance on securing Idaho’s support.”

The process followed constitutional and statutory requirements and marked the first time the proceedings were open to the public.

“The Electoral College is where Idaho’s voice is heard in the presidential election, and I’m proud that so many were able to witness this important part of the process,” McGrane said.
