Voters may face issues checking registration information
BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The general election is over, and some voters who want to ensure their vote is counted may have issues checking that online.
Secretary of State Phil McGrane’s office has a website where people can check their voter information. But your individual information may not appear if you registered to vote on Election Day.
KMVT contacted Secretary McGrane’s office to find out why.
They sent us a statement explaining that more than 100,000 Idaho citizens registered to vote on Election Day.
Following Election Day, officials must validate those registrations and input that information into the statewide voter registration system.
That process takes time, which is why you may need to wait if you registered on Election Day and want to check your updated voting record.
The Secretary of the State’s office says it could take up to a few weeks.
