BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Associated Press has projected on Wednesday morning that Proposition 1 will not pass.

As of 1 a.m., 479,548 Idahoans have voted against the measure, according to the Associated Press. About 209,066 voted to approve the measure.

Idahoans for Open Primaries have conceded that the initiative did not receive the majority needed to pass, according to a statement from the group.

Proposition 1 was a measure to replace voter selection of party nominees with a top-four primary, according to VoteIdaho.gov. The measure also would have required a ranked-choice voting system for general elections.
