Original Story:
The jury in the Chad Daybell murder trial heard testimony Tuesday morning regarding the shooting death of Charles Vallow at his home in Chandler, Arizona.
Detective Nathan Duncan of the Chandler Police Department was one of the officers who to the 911 phone call made by Alex Cox on June 11, 2019, of a report of a shooting at the home of Charles Vallow.
Duncan testified that he had never heard of Alex Cox when he responded to the call to assist crime scene technicians and take photographs. He described in court what he saw when he arrived at the Vallow home.
“When making my observations, I noticed the body of a Caucasian male later to be identified as Charles Vallow, laying on the west side of this room. North of where he was laying there was an aluminum baseball bat and then a little bit north of this was a baseball cap that we had we had found out was worn by Charles earlier,” Duncan told the court. “To the west of Charles’ body, there were two .45 caliber casings that were recovered. Also noted at this time there was a bullet strike and a lodged bullet, what we refer to as a projectile, that had lodged into the baseboard of the east side of that particular room. "
Duncan also described that Charles was shot once in the chest and that there was very little blood present at the scene.
Prosecutor Lindsey Blake also introduced evidence of text messages and emails between Charles Vallow and Lori Vallow Daybell about his suspicions of Chad and Lori having an affair, as well as emails from Charles Vallow to Tammy Daybell.
The trial and testimony of Detective Duncan continues, and the trial is being live-streamed on Judge Steven Boyce’s YouTube channel.
