BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —It was a year ago that Lori Vallow Daybell’s trial began the same process of finding a jury; at the end she was found guilty of each count of murder and fraud she was tried on.

She was sentenced to four life terms for them and is currently in Maricopa County Arizona on charges related to the death of her previous husband, Charles Vallow and the attempted murder of her nieces then husband.

Through the trial and all of the events leading up to it were JJ Vallow’s grandparents, Kay and Larry Woodcock, as they get ready to go through another trial for Chad Daybell they spoke to KMVT.

JJ Vallow’s Grandfather Larry Woodcock says, “What we went through with Lori was difficult because we trusted Lori, and she broke the ultimate trust. We trusted her and Charles. Charles had nothing to do with this, but we trusted Lori, she was young, she presented as all American mom, that was a lie and obviously she’s paying the consequences for that.”

Much like Vallow Daybell’s trial they know what to expect as far as evidence and the horrific images like photos of the autopsy and crime scene. Something that the new jurors won’t know until they’re in the trial.

“If there’s anything I pray for more than anything else is those 12 potential jurors. They’re going to hear and see things they can’t unsee and they’re going to hear things they can’t unhear. I wish that they’re successful. I want an honest true righteous verdict,” said Woodcock.

Jury selection is expected to last about a week. After that opening arguments will begin. The trial is expected to last around eight weeks this time because it is a death penalty case.
