UPDATE: 5:00PM 11/30/23

Lori Vallow Daybell, who was convicted and sentenced earlier this year to serve two life sentences in Idaho for the murder of her two children and conspiracy in the death of her current husband’s former wife, was extradited to Arizona to face additional charges in that state.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Vallow arrived at the woman’s-only Estrella Jail in Phoenix just after midnight.

Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Pezone held a press conference Thursday afternoon to talk about the extradition process to get Vallow back to Arizona.

“We sent four deputies there by car. Normally we would fly. Our extraditions seemed, would fly to pick it up, but because of weather conditions, we felt that it was, um, more predictable and more within our control that if we were gonna transport her, that we wouldn’t have to deal with any kind of, um, weather conditions or air travel challenges. So our deputies left on, uh, on the 27th for Idaho arrived, there stayed for a day to prepare and brought her back. We sent two extraditions deputies, uh, a supervisor and one deputy from our canine division, but it’s just because she’s a female deputy. Wanna make sure there was a female accompanying, um, suspect Vallow in her travel in her travel back”

Vallow is under two indictments in Arizona. Prosecutors say she conspired with her brother, Alex Cox, to murder her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, in July 2019.

Cox claimed self-defense at the time, but investigators believe Lori Vallow had Charles Vallow killed so she could marry Chad Daybell and get $1 million in life insurance money.

She’s also accused of scheming to kill her niece’s ex-husband, Brandon Boudreaux, in October 2019. Gilbert police say Cox shot at Boudreaux but missed. Cox died a month later of natural causes.

Idaho Gov. Brad Little signed her extradition to Arizona on Oct. 23 after Hobbs filed paperwork in August. In Idaho, Vallow was serving life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murders of her two children; JJ Vallow, Tylee Ryan and conspiracy to kill her current husband’s former wife, Tammy Daybell.
