Attorneys for Bryan Kohberger file a motion for a change of venue

Moscow, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The attorneys representing Bryan Kohberger filed a motion for a change of venue.

According to documents filed with the court state that to date, all proceedings have been held at the Latah County Courthouse in Moscow, which is the city in Idaho where the crimes took place.

However, Kohberger’s attorney Anne Taylor requests a jury pool from outside of Latah County and stated they believe that a fair and impartial jury cannot be found due to what they say is due “to extensive, inflammatory pretrial publicity, allegations made about Mr. Kohberger to the public by media that will be inadmissible at his trial, the small size of the community, the salacious nature of the alleged crimes, and the severity of the charges Mr. Kohberger faces.”

The defense requests an opportunity to be heard through evidentiary presentation and arguments no sooner than the end of April.
