Sun Valley, Wood River boys win district championships
Wednesday was a jam-packed day of soccer in and around the Magic Valley.
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Wednesday was a jam-packed day of soccer in and around the Magic Valley.
The action started at Wendell High School as the Trojans hosted the Sun Valley Cutthroats.
Scoreless game through a half, action picked up in the second Sun Valleys’ Cal Davis attempted to get by Wendell goalkeeper Roberto Orozco in a play that would result in a venality kick.
Declan White would convert and give the Cutthroats a 1-0 lead.
Wendell was quick to respond with a goal by Cesar Carmargo.
This game would go to penalty kicks after two scoreless extra-time halves.
Sun Valley would win 4-2 on penalty kicks to win the district tournament and advance to state.
Wendell will host Gooding on Saturday in a state play-in game.
