Wendell, Sun Valley boys soccer advance to district championship
Wendell will host Sun Valley Community School on Wednesday in the title game.
WENDELL, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — District soccer heated up on Monday for semi-final action in both the boys and girls 4A High Desert Conference.
The action was underway at Wendell High School as the No. 1 Trojans hosted No. 4 Kimberly.
The Trojans came out on fire with five first-half goals from Julian Ponce (2), Cesar Camargo, Kayson Acevedo, and Jaffry Bush Padilla.

They would add two more in the second as Wendell advances to the district championship on Wednesday, beating Kimberly 7-2.
Kimberly’s goals were scored by Santiago ‘Santi’ Perez and Manuel ‘Manny’ Hernandez.
Wendell will host Sun Valley Community School on Wednesday in the title game while Kimberly will play Gooding in an elimination game.
Over in Sun Valley on Wednesday, the Cutthroats boys teams advanced to the title game after beating Gooding 1-1 (6-5 PKs).
After the game was tied 1-1 after regular and extra time, the game would be decided on penalty kicks.
Gooding would miss its last kick as Sun Valley would advance to the title game.
The Cutthroats will travel and take on Wendell on Wednesday in the championship game at 4:00 p.m.
Gooding will host Kimberly on Wednesday in a loser-out game at 4:00 p.m.
