District Soccer: Eight teams see their seasons come to a close Saturday
WENDELL, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The fifth-seed in 4A girls soccer, the Bliss Bears, traveled to Wendell to take on the fourth-seeded Trojans in the opening round of the 4A girls district soccer tournament and thanks to two goals from the boot of Morgan Notman, the Bears claimed a 3-1 upset win and ended Wendell’s season for the second straight year.
Notman had a chance at a hat trick as well as she was fouled in the box giving the Bears a free kick up 2-1, but Alondra Duenas took it instead and still found the back of the net for the final goal in the Bears 3-1 win. For Wendell, senior Heymy Orozco was the lone goal scorer in her final game.
