Kimberly volleyball sweeps Filer; Thursday Idaho prep scores
Senior Mallory Kelsey spoke with KMVT after a dominant 20 kills for Kimberly
KIMBERLY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Fun night of sports around Southern Idaho on Thursday starting with a Sawtooth Central Idaho volleyball conference matchup.
The Kimberly Bulldogs hosted the Filer Wildcats as both teams entered the contest after a win on Tuesday.
Kimberly proved they were top dogs in the conference with the 3-0 sweep.
The Bulldogs are now 3-0 against their conference.
Senior Mallory Kelsey led the way for Kimberly with a dominant 20 kills.
“It feels good just getting confidence as a team going deeper into the season with the win,” Kelsey told KMVT. “I think we got a lot of new younger girls and we’re all trying to pick each other up and gain confidence throughout the entire court because we need everyone and all of us to work together.”
Sophomore Taya Plew had a great night with 13 kills.
Avery Beard had 14 assists in the win while Tarissa Plew had 20.
Kimberly will compete in the Twin Falls Invitational starting on Friday.
For Filer, Ryett Weaver led the way with 10 kills while Brook Parker had 5, and Brooklyn Goodrich had four.
Aubrey Westling added 11 assists and Ella Jensen had 11 digs.
