Filer boys soccer dominates in season opener; Monday Idaho prep scores

Sophomore Ruben Navarrete scored a hat-trick for the Wildcats, while senior Teagan Easterday and sophomore Mmunga Elengwa scored two each. Freshman Josia Ortiz and sophomore Aydyn Burns also added a goal each.

FILER, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Filer boys soccer team (1-0) hosted the Declo Hornets (0-1) to kick off both teams’ seasons on Monday.

To keep it brief, it was a one-sided affair.

After leading at the half 3-0, Filer added six more goals to come away with a 9-1 win.

Sophomore Ruben Navarrete scored a hat-trick for the Wildcats, while senior Teagan Easterday and sophomore Mmunga Elengwa scored two each. Freshman Josia Ortiz and sophomore Aydyn Burns also added a goal each.

Sophomore Jan Revelo was the lone goal scorer for Declo.

Filer is back in action Wednesday when they travel to Wendell to take on the Trojans.

Declo will travel and take on Kimberly on Wednesday.
