BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Burleys Edwin Anguiano signed his National Letter of Intent on Thursday to play soccer at the College of Southern Idaho.

He’ll trade out his green and white with the Burley Bobcats for the black and gold with the Golden Eagles in CSI’s inaugural season.

Playing college soccer was always a dream for Anguiano, and he achieved it after countless hours of hard work.

“Honestly, even if you asked me one or two years ago, I would’ve thought I couldn’t make it,” Anguiano said. “I wanted to play college soccer, and once I set my mind to it, I knew I could do it.”

This past fall, the lefty midfielder was named a 4A Great Basin All-Conference First Team Selection and was named Burley’s most inspirational player during the season.

He was happy to share the signing with his dad, Jesús, to whom he shared a special message in Spanish saying how thankful he was.

Anguiano told KMVT how much he looks up to his father.

“He’s a big role model for me. He’s taught me hard work, and he’s probably the hardest worker I know,” Anguiano said. “He’s the perfect role model for me, and I’m grateful to have him.”

He joins teammate Neftali Arellano in signing to play collegiate soccer.

KMVT is excited to see him in our own backyard at CSI this fall.
