TJ Brewer becomes first Canyon Ridge boy’s player to sign with CSI soccer
Brewer was the 2023 Great Basin All-Conference Offensive Player of the Year and was an all-state selection.
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Canyon Ridge senior TJ Brewer put pen to paper Tuesday afternoon and has signed his letter of intent to play for the College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles this fall.
He is now the first Canyon Ridge men’s player to sign for the squad.
Fellow Riverhawk soccer player, Jayva Hicks, became the first-ever CSI signee in November.
The Canyon Ridge soccer programs are now the first to send off a boy and girl to join the CSI soccer teams.
Brewer was the 2023 Great Basin All-Conference Offensive Player of the Year and was an all-state selection.
He helped lead the Riverhawks to a district championship and the two seed at the state tournament.
He could not contain his excitement to be a part of CSI’s first-ever soccer team this fall.
“I’m very excited. I have much to look up to and learn with the program,” Brewer said. “Honestly, I just can’t wait, I’m super excited and it looks like it’s going to be positive.”
Not only is he a great athlete, but an even better person. He was the team captain in his junior and senior seasons for the leadership qualities he displayed on and off the pitch.
That’s exactly what CSI head coach Alex Ferreira is looking for in his program.
Brewer noted that he’s excited to play under Ferreira next season.
“I trust Alex (Ferreira), he’s nice, very sweet and, he’s tactically smart,” Brewer said. “He’ll know what’s good and bad.”
Brewer is pumped to rock his new black and gold threads with the Golden Eagles and is excited to stay in town and enjoy his mom’s amazing seafood!
You can catch him and CSI’s inaugural soccer season this fall.
