CSI softball's early season struggles continue in final weekend of non-conference play
FORT MYERS, Florida (KMVT/KSVT) — The College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles traveled to Florida this weekend for 6 games in three days, and unfortunately for them the early season struggles followed them down to the Sunshine State.
CSI began the weekend with a 7-4 win over Spoon River College, but it all went downhill from there as they took two straight losses to seventh-ranked Florida Southwestern State, including one on the final play of the game.
They were then shutout 8-0 by Miami-Dade College and then 3-0 by the number one team in the nation, Indian River State College before closing the trip with an 11-3 loss to Chipola College for a disappointing 1-5 weekend.
Softball will have a week off before the home opener as well as conference opener Friday, February 28 against North Idaho College and first pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
