TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Nothing like a Wednesday rivalry game in Southern Idaho.

The CSI men’s basketball team (18-8, 6-5 SWAC) duked it out with Salt Lake Community College (17-9, 5-6 SWAC).

It was a battle all game between the two conference foes.

CSI trailed with five minutes to go by two points, but Salt Lake would quickly build up a lead by TCU commit Xavier Edmunds, who got busy.

Edmunds scored a game-high 24 points, to go along with 14 rebounds and eight assists, as CSI fell short 87-79.

Salt Lake outscored CSI 53-35 in the second half.

CSI shot nearly 40 percent for the game as Tanner Hayhurst got the start and led CSI with 21, including 3-5 from long range.

Khayri Dunn fouled out of the game late in the second half but added 15 points. Isaac Hawkins returned from injury and got the start. He recorded a double-double in his return with 14 points and rebounds.

Canyon Ridge graduate Sam Lupumba started as well and scored six, along with six boards.

Amarco Doyle fouled out with seven points and Walker Timme didn’t see any action.

CSI is back in action at home on Saturday against Colorado Northwestern Community College.
