CSI Lady Golden Eagles take down No. 23 Salt Lake on Wednesday night

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The CSI Lady Golden Eagles (19-7, 7-4 SWAC) got back in the win column Wednesday night, beating conference leaders No. 23 Salt Lake Community College (18-6, 7-3) 67-58.

Golden Eagles moved quickly in the first half, finding quick buckets in transition from turnovers and leading 22-20 at the break.

CSI erupted in the second half, doubling its points and more with 45 as the Golden Eagles would go on to win 67-57.

Mariah Mons paced CSI with 14 points on 2-2 shooting from beyond the arc. Samara Morrow scored 11 and grabbed six rebounds in the win.

Savannah Stoker had a great night off the bench for the Golden Eagles providing 13 points on 5-9 shooting. As a team, CSI shot 37 percent from the floor.

CSI won the rebound battle 40-31 as Oakley graduate Falon Bedke grabbed seven, and Alina Sapilak had six.

The Golden Eagles, with the win, have a shot of hosting the district tournament if the results come its way.

CSI is back in action on Saturday against Colorado Northwestern Community College.
