TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The No. 20 CSI men’s team (18-5, 6-2 SWAC) went toe-to-toe with No. 1 Snow College (21-1, 7-0).

CSI was trailing three points under two minutes to go.

Tanner Hayhurst knocked down a three-pointer to tie the game as the Golden Eagle crowd rose to their feet.

Snow College’s Isaac Finlinson responded with a huge three and went back up three.

The Badgers would then hold on and win 93-89.

“Credit to them, Finlinson hit a big shot, and that’s the difference in the game as you come down the stretch,” Reinert told KMVT. “They made the shot at the right time, and when you have two great teams like that, that’s how it goes,”

While it was a back-and-forth game, the game came to an emotional stop following halftime.

During the break, CSI’s Brandon Oloumou suffered a gruesome leg injury that required medical attention.

Reinert confirmed that Oloumou is out for the season.

“We lost Brandon (Oloumou) during warmups, and the team was shaken up,” Reinert said. We also lost Gerry Guerrero for the second half as he emotionally couldn’t play.”

In five minutes in the first half, Guerrero knocks down two three-pointers to give the Golden Eagles a spark.

Dale Griffin got the start for CSI and led the Golden Eagles with 20 points on 7-9 shooting.

Khayri Dunn had 16, Tanner Hayhurst had 13, and Jalen Lyn and Amarco Doyle each had 11.

The Golden Eagles shot an impressive 50 percent from the floor and 52 percent from beyond the arc in the loss.

CSI is back in action on Saturday against Utah State University Eastern.
