TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The College of Southern Idaho women’s basketball team knows they’re viewed as the “hunted.”

No. 14 CSI (14-4, 6-1 SWAC) lead the conference and know they’ll get every team’s best shot down the stretch.

This is unsurprising, as the Golden Eagles are pursuing a fifth straight Region 18 Championship.

Sophomore center and Oakley graduate Falon Bedke told KMVT that CSI would be ready for everyone’s top performances.

Bedke has had an increased role with the Golden Eagles this season, starting in 15 of the 22 games.

“Teams are coming to play the best they have to bring their best against CSI,” Bedke said. “We need to focus on the little things like boxing out and limiting turnovers going down the stretch.”

The turnovers were a significant factor in CSI’s lone conference loss against Salt Lake Community College on Jan. 23.

CSI lost 56-53 on the road in the matchup with 26 turnovers.

The Golden Eagles won the first game between the two sides 61-58 on Jan. 8.

Head coach Randy Rogers and his team have been in this position before atop the table and are embracing the challenge of being the team to beat.

“We’re the hunted, and if we don’t bring our best game, we know we’re going to get knocked off,” Rogers explained to KMVT. “If you’re the hunted, you’re doing something right, and teams want to take you down. I like it,t and now we need to find a way to invite it and step up in our game.”

CSI host Snow College (12-9, 1-5 SWAC) on Thursday.

The Golden Eagles won 67-51 on Jan. 18 on the road against the Badgers.
