TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT)—On Thursday evening, the College of Southern Idaho is the place to be.

Both CSI basketball teams will be in action with the women at 5:00 and the men at 7:00.

The No. 20 men’s team (18-4, 6-1 SWAC) will host the No. 1 team in the country in conference foe Snow College (20-1, 6-0).

They squared off on Jan. 18 in Ephraim, Utah where CSI struggled and lost 110-82.

CSI committed 22 turnovers in a contest they’d like to forget.

As Thursday rolls around, the Golden Eagles are embracing the opportunity to right its wrongs in front of the home crowd.

Head coach Jeff Reinert says they’re tough to beat when his team is on.

“Ball security is a big deal for. If we take care of the ball and get a shot every possession, we have a good chance to win any game we play,” Reinert told KMVT. “Jalen (Lyn) and Khayri (Dunn) have played well for us but they had a bad game against Snow. A big key to our game will be how those two play.

The point guards average a combined 19.8 points per game and shoot a combined 44.5 clip from the field.

Other big pieces for the team have included Amarco Doyle and Walker Timme.

The two started have stepped up even more so in the absence of forward Issac Hawkins who’s been out with a wrist injury.

“Anything I can do to help the team is what I’m going to do,” Timmer explained to KMVT. “If it’s playing 40 minutes a night, I’ll do it, anything to help the team win.

Timme has been filling in at the five for CSI and has filled the role well.

He knows the importance of Thursday’s game in the conference.

“Last time against them we laid an egg,” Timme said. “Thursday we’ll be ready to go. Coach (Reinert) is going to have us ready and it’ll be a battle.”

Doyle emphasized the statement on how crucial Thursday will be.

“Coach (Reinert) always talks about keeping the standard the standard. Winning the conference is where the standard is and our journey begins,” Doyle explained. “Winning this game is another step in our journey.”

Doyle missed CSI’s contest with Colorado Northwestern Community College on Saturday as he dealt with the flu. CSI won in double-overtime 83-82.

He last played on Jan. 23 against Salt Lake. He led all scorers with 27 points while grabbing eight rebounds in the 86-81 win.

It’s going to be a clash on Thursday night at CSI. Tipoff set for 7:00
