TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — This weekend was also the opener for the College of Southern Idaho baseball and softball teams down in Arizona and Nevada.

After an 0-2 start for softball on Opening Day Friday, the eighth-ranked Golden Eagles bounced back in a big way with a pair of wins on Saturday.

First, an 11-1 win over Spoon River College to open the day and then the Golden Eagles fought back to .500 with a 12-5 win over Northeastern Junior College.

The softball team will have five games across three days in Arizona next weekend.

The baseball team lost its singular Opening Day game on Friday to the fifteenth-ranked Pima Community College Aztecs and continued the series in a doubleheader on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles were beaten once again by Pima Community College 5-3 in game one before being dominated 13-3 in game two to fall to 0-3 on the young season.

The baseball team will wrap up the series and look to avoid the sweep Sunday morning.
