CSI track and field runner qualifies for nationals
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A College of Southern Idaho distance track runner qualified for the NJCAA Indoor National Championships in the 800 meters.
Isabella Beilke, a Jerome native, qualified for nationals this past Friday at the Snake River Open in Pocatello.
Beilke set her personal record in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:21. This time is just under the 2:22 standard needed to qualify for nationals and is also a 15-second improvement for Beilke in just one meet, as she ran a 2:36 the prior weekend at the Weber State Invite in Ogden, Utah
Beilke, also a Jerome high school graduate, will have seven weeks to train and four more meets before the NJCAA Indoor National Championships on March 7 and 8 in Lubbock, Texas.
