YUMA, Arizona (KMVT/KSVT) — The College of Southern Idaho women’s basketball team played a rare Sunday night game in the desert of Arizona as they took on No. 17 Arizona Western.

The Golden Eagles continued the Arizona trip and took on the Matadors and this game, like the prior one on the trip, was back and forth for much of the game.

CSI led by three at the half and the back and forth continued into the third quarter as the Matadors cut the CSI lead to two.

In the fourth, things were knotted at 53 with 5 minutes to go and then Arizona Western took a timeout that would change the game.

The Matadors would capitalize drilling two threes in a row which was part of a 9-0 run down the stretch to pull away from CSI.

Kennedy Gillette led the Golden Eagles in scoring with 13 but CSI ultimately fell in this one by a final of 67-58 as they lose just the second game of the season.

The lady Golden Eagles will have a much needed day off Monday before two final games before the holiday break on Tuesday and Wednesday.
