HAZELTON, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Another Sunday, another play of the week, and if you watched our highlight show on Friday night at 10:00, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what this week’s play will be.

This week’s play of the week comes from the dramatic 2A quarterfinal game between the Hagerman Pirates and the Valley Vikings.

Final minute and a half of the game, Valley just has to run the clock out and they pass instead, and Hagerman’s Ky Kendall jumps the route picks off the pass and runs it all the way back for the go-ahead touchdown.

The Pirates took a four-point lead on the ensuing two-point conversion and the defense forced a Vikings fumble at the goal line in the final 20 seconds to clinch the game.

Kendall’s interception held up as the game-winning play and sets the Pirates up for a rematch with Butte County on Thursday night at the ICCU Dome in Pocatello with a spot in the state title game on the line, kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
