TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — McKenna May made it official on Monday afternoon signing to play college soccer at Mid-America Nazarene University.

Her path to collegiate athletics wasn’t easy.

She had multiple fractures in her foot, and after playing through the injuries for two years, she had the surgery done in the fall.

It wasn’t easy, but she came out on top thanks to her hard work.

“I’ve never sat out for so long and finding out that I needed the surgery was heartbreaking,” May told KMVT. “The coaches at MidAmerica reached out to me however and said the surgery didn’t bother them. That was like the light in the darkness.”

She never left the game even with her injury, becoming the boy’s manager for the season and constantly staying around the game.

Boys Varsity coach and club coach for May, Corey Farnsworth, told KMVT that she never stopped working to achieve her goals.

“Anytime someone has an injury like that, they have to inspire themselves to keep working hard,” Farnsworth said. “She did exactly that.”

KMVT is thrilled to watch her continue her goals at the collegiate level.
