CSI volleyball splits home tournament

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team held its home tournament this weekend, the Starr Corporation Invite and split across four matches.

CSI opened the tournament on Thursday with a 3-0 sweep of Casper College before taking on the No. 3 team in the nation on Friday, Northeastern Junior College, who dispatched the Golden Eagles in three sets.

On Saturday, CSI took on Northwest College and came away with a 15-13 set five victory. Sets three through five were decided by two points each and the Golden Eagles took two of of those to win the match.

In the final game of the weekend CSI squared off with No. 2 Miami Dade College and were once again swept by a highly-ranked team.

CSI finished the weekend 2-2 and moves to 4-8 on the season with one final tournament next Friday and Saturday in Salt Lake City before conference play begins September 28.
