Behind the Business: Renew

JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —A coffee shop that dishes up delicious drinks and snacks is also giving back to the community they serve.
“What does Jerome need that Jerome doesn’t have?”, Pastor Will Ritter, the owner of Renew said.
The Renew Café and Community Center started in 2017, when Pastor will said he realized there was no such space in Jerome, “Tried to make a place for everybody. There wasn’t a lot going on in our community.”
The café is associated with Renew Church, and Pastor Wil; says they both focus on giving, “Having the church facilitate community is part of what we do.”
The name came to Pastor Will from the bible, more specifically Jesus' words of Revelation, “The Christian story is not just Jesus redeeming man and restoring their relationship with God, but making all things new.”
The café offers your favorite coffee shop staples, plus... “Sandwiches, lunch, all sorts of fruity, cleverly named drinks and lots and lots of ice cream.”
They also host events for the community to come together, “Hosting special events that also communicate value to our community members and so we’re kind of famous for our Lego night.”
But their main goal is providing service and resources throughout the Magic Valley, “I meet with two to seven people and families a day who are at risk or experiencing homelessness and living in their car who need food or prescription or gas.”
A place to get your daily caffeine boost, while also helping out a great cause.
