TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — January marks Poverty in America Awareness Month, and there is a free website to help anyone in need.

That’s the focus of this week’s Fit and Well Idaho report.

In Idaho alone, 11% of the residents live below the poverty line, according to the American Community Survey.

An additional 32% of Idahoans struggle to afford necessities such as food, transportation, childcare, and healthcare.

For those seeking help with resources, United Way of Southern Idaho and other companies have partnered to offer a free website for those in need.

“Find Help Idaho is great because it is a one stop shop for people to find help,” said United Way of South Central Idaho CEO Kara Fort. “Typically, people are needing emergency food boxes, they also need help with housing and utility assistance, and this is a one shop place where people can go and find everything they need. It’s up to date and it’s very easy to use.”

If you need assistance, go to findhelpidaho.org and enter your zip code to find local resources near you.
