GOODING, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Suszan Gail Cadwell, 54, a resident of Gooding, Idaho, passed away on January 6, 2025, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born May 6, 1970, in Portsmouth, Virginia, the daughter of Revelin LaVie and Mark Cadwell.

The family moved several times with the U.S. Navy, and they spent many years in Columbus, Ohio, before settling in Whitefish, Montana, where she graduated high school. She attended MacMurray College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education and, later, her master’s degree.

Suszan began working at the ISDB in 1992, teaching many grade levels in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Department. She was a Nationally Certified American Sign Language Interpreter and had a true gift for signing. For the past eight years, she has served as principal of the Elementary Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Special Needs Department. Additionally, she held several positions on the IESDB Foundation Board for nine years and led mini-grants for the state of Idaho.

Suszan was a valued member and friend of New Life Community Church. She was the first Director of Family Ministries at New Life, where she served 3 years. She positively influenced many kids in this role. She served on the Pastoral Succession Team and the Worship and Design Team. She had a true passion for worship and could be found in the second row every Sunday morning, singing praises and lifting her hands to Jesus.

Suszan was truly one of a kind, touching the lives of everyone she met. She radiated joy, compassion, and love. She loved her family fiercely. Though she will be terribly missed, her lasting impact on her family, friends, and community will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her mother- Revelin LaVie (David) and father- Mark Cadwell and significant other Pete Jones; two sons - Lucas (Rachel) Reed and Colton (Tana) Reed, both of Gooding, Idaho; one daughter - Clarissa (Andrew Sapien) Reed of Filer, Idaho; eight grandchildren - Maisee, RaeLeigh, Daxton, Jackson, Rylee Jo, Merrick, Cade, and Ridge.

She is preceded in death by her stepfather - Ken Bingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 1, 202,5, at New Life Community Church, located at 800 West Main Street, Wendell, Idaho.
