Celebrity bald eagles hatch two eggs after several seasons without chicks
(CNN) - Congratulations are in order for the nation’s most famous bald eagle couple in Big Bear, California.
Eagle parents Jackie and Shadow have hatched two chicks!
The first chick hatched late Monday night, with the second fluffy, gray eaglet following Tuesday morning.
This marked the first time in nearly three years that the avian couple has had a successful hatching.
Jackie and Shadow have become an internet sensation since they became mates in 2018.
There is still a third egg in the nest.
The nonprofit organization Friends of Big Bear Valley says there is still a chance it could hatch because it’s still within the incubation period.
All eyes are now on the happy family and if there will be another pip which is the initial crack of an eggshell as a chick begins to hatch.
