LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV/Gray News) – Firefighters in Texas saved a dog last week that fell down a well underneath a house.

The Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center said in a Facebook post that they don’t know exactly how the dog made the deep fall, but they say he was in a “dangerous situation” trapped inside the well on Feb. 24.

Photos show firefighters with the Longview Fire Department crawling underneath the house to get to the animal.

Thankfully, they were able to rescue the dog, who was unharmed.

One of the firefighters volunteered to adopt him in case an owner isn’t found.

The shelter added that this rescue was “a true reminder of the bond between humans and animals, and how a community comes together in times of need.”
