BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) - A healthy 13-pound baby was born at Grandview Medical Center in Alabama on Tuesday morning.

Paris Halo made her entrance into the world at 7:21 a.m. to mother Pamela Mann.

According to Grandview Medical Center, baby Paris weighed in at 13 pounds, 4 ounces and measured 22 inches long.

Paris is in the neonatal intensive care unit for some extra love and care while her mom is spending some time in the hospital, but the medical team both of doing great.

The family said Mann’s original due date was March 20.

During her regular ultrasound three to four weeks ago, Mann said the technician said her baby was weighing in around 10 pounds. So, the doctor planned a C-section for March 4.

When the baby weighed over 13 pounds after birth, Paris' mother said everyone was shocked.

“Everybody in the ER — they were amazed," she said. “They were like, ‘OMG. Oh, this is a big baby!’ So, I was like, ‘Is something wrong? What’s wrong?’ And once they actually just said she’s just big, I just broke out into tears! It’s an amazing experience.”

Mann said she is proud of herself for carrying Paris to 39 weeks and can’t wait to love her for years to come.

Mother and daughter are expected to go home in a few days.
