(CNN) - Taco Bell is crushing the competition.

Taco Bell has forecast an 8% sales growth for the current quarter at stores that have been open for at least a year.

That far outpaces its rivals, many of which say sales have recently been sluggish due in part to inflation.

“When you look at where the American consumer is at, there’s a lot going on,” CEO Sean Tresvant said. “But we believe because we’re a category of one, especially when you look at the magic formula of value, innovation, digital sales and brand buzz. We’re shielded from consumer pressures.”

Taco Bell is planning to add more new menu items this year.
