‘Please take care of my cats’: Pets left at animal shelter with note asking for help
(Gray News) - Cats were left at an animal shelter by their owner with a note asking for help.
Care for Animal Rescue and Enrichment of St. Louis shared photos of the cats and the heartbreaking note left with them in a Facebook post.
“To someone who trusted us with your beloved pets: Thank you for trusting us with your precious pets during this challenging time for you,” CARE STL wrote in the post.
The note left with the cats said, “Please take care of my cats. Love them both. Tabby is unsocialized. Thank you.”
“It is heartbreaking that many people are forced to surrender their pets to shelters due to housing issues,” CARE STL founder and CEO Weng Horak said.
Horak said that unfortunately, situations like this lead to a break in the bond between animals and humans.
The cats are being “showered” with love and care at CARE STL while waiting to find a family.
“Take care of yourself, and know that we’re here for you if you want to visit them,” CARE STL wrote to the owner in the Facebook post.
