TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The second round of the Idaho High School Football Playoffs begins on Friday, where teams will compete in the quarterfinals as they try to reach one step closer to a state championship.
KMVT’s Friday Night Blitz Player of the Week highlights not only one of the best performances in the area but also one of the best players in the country.
He joins teammate Wyatt Mavencamp as Player’s of the Week from Hagerman
Hagerman’s Ky Kendall earned the award as he helped his Pirates to a first-round win over Raft River winning 50-26.
Kendall had six catches for 136 yards and three touchdowns in the blowout win, but this is what he’s done all year.
He ranks first in the state of Idaho and second in the country in 6/8/9-man football in receiving yards with 1,633 yards on the season.
He has 1,861 all-purpose yards and 22 touchdown receptions and one rushing touchdown the season.
Kendall also has two interceptions on the defensive side.
“We love Ky. He’s a great athlete and an even better kid,” head coach Bill Hicks told KMVT. “He’s a team captain and our team leader; physically, emotionally, and mentally.”
Kendall and Hagerman turn their sighs to Friday as the Pirates seek revenge against Valley for a chance at the semi-finals.
The Vikings beat Hagerman on the road on September 13, winning 56-40.
Kickoff from Valley High School on Friday is set for 6:00.
