Behind the Business: Phat Pat'z and Buster's Restaurant and Saloon
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —“Tender, love and care” is their motto and American favorite foods is what they offer.
“All around type of restaurant we do cheeseburgers, Philly cheese steaks, fish and chips, chicken nuggets and fries we do a little bit of everything,” Michael Patrick is the owner of Phat Pat’z which serves traditional American food at his location in the Magic Valley Mall.
“We have the best burgers in the Magic Valley,” Patrick stated.
but that’s not the only place you’ll find Patrick cooking up something delicious.
He’s also the owner of Buster’s Restaurant and Saloon in Hollister, which has a unique twist to it.
“I wanted soul food and we couldn’t get soul food here in the town, like I wanted like collared greens, mac and cheese and things like that and Tiffany told me ‘well you’re going to have to do it’ so I did it and here we are today,” Patrick explained.
Buster’s serves traditional food from South, handmade by Patrick himself, ”It’s a cultural thing. So I grew up eating a certain way. I figured we can have some of the big city things without compromising the small town feel and it doesn’t disrupt anything and we get the personal aspect of it."
Each day of the week they offer different Southern dishes, “Fridays we have the crawfish boil, which is the crawfish, shrimp, lobster tails, corn, potatoes, all the good southern Cajun style food. Saturdays we have prime rib, which is to die for. And then Sunday we have a soul food Sunday.”
But Patrick says his favorite part of working at both of his location is the customers, “Getting to interact with all the people is fun. The kids, sometimes the kids get free stuff. So it’s always just nice to interact with everyone around.”
November 10th they are having a harvest party, with seafood boils and an official grand opening for Buster’s.
