Fit and Well: St. Luke’s teaches people time-sensitive emergencies
FILER, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — When visiting the Twin Falls County Fair, guests may see St. Luke’s staff teaching people how to spot medical emergencies.
That is the focus of this week’s Fit and Well Idaho report.
The staff showed ways to prevent trauma and to spot the signs of stroke, heart attack and sepsis. Knowing this information can be the difference between life and death.
Staff members also showed fairgoers how to apply tourniquets, car seats, and helmets.
“We recognize that time-sensitive emergencies such as trauma, heart attack, stroke and sepsis can be life-altering to people,” Trauma Program Manager Toni Jackson said. “To show or to help them with recognizing those signs and symptoms to get the help they need can help get them to the hospital quickly or even prevent traumatic injuries.”
The booth will be open in Merchant Building One at the fair.
