Fit and Well: Virtual Care
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Finding a new primary care provider can be difficult, but online options are helping bridge gaps in health care.
Virtual care can quickly connect patients with a provider, whether new to the Magic Valley, newly expecting, or simply not feeling well.
Saint Luke’s on-demand virtual care is available seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Patients only need a smartphone or computer with a speaker, camera, and internet connection to get care.
Abby Losinki, Director of Outpatient Telehealth, discussed how virtual visits work.
“We often do self exams, so have the patient open their mouth and shine the camera in their mouth, take temperature at home,” Losinki said. “Most people have a thermometer, so we’re able to let the patient take their own temperature, tell us what it is. Our providers are very skilled at how to treat patients virtually. This is what they do every day.”
The doctor will send a prescription to a pharmacy if a patient needs a prescription.
All patients are welcome to use these virtual care visits.
